INTRODUCTION

This privacy policy sets out who we are, how we use and protect any information that you give us when you use this website, if you are the subject of any of the personal data concerned, what rights you have and how to get in touch with us if you need to.

 


WHO ARE WE?
We are Esotec. You can contact us via the contact details at the end of this policy.  We are the controller in relation to the personal data processed in accordance with this policy (except where this policy explains otherwise).  


Esotec is committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected. If you provide us with any information which could identify you (personal data) when using this website, or with other interactions with us, be assured that it will only be used in accordance with this privacy policy.


WHAT WE COLLECT
No personal information is required to use this website in general. However, personal information may be required to access some facilities on the website – such as if you use the Contact Form or write/email/call us. You should also refer to our Cookies policy.

If you have entered into a contract with us, either via supplying goods or by us offering goods and services to you, we will process your contact and account details.

If we remove a CCTV installation, we may have in our possession recordings from your property, which we will delete as soon as the equipment returns to our service centre.

Any personal information supplied to us by you will only be used:

(i) to supply professional and related services to you as requested and information may be passed to employees, agents and third parties as required for this purpose;

(ii) to provide communications to you;

(iii) to provide information to legal authorities or third parties in accordance with any legal requirement, regulation or other exceptional circumstance;

(iv) if you violate the terms of use of this website.

Information from your browser may be received and recorded on our server records.  This information includes but is not limited to your IP address, cookies and any material accessed by you.  We currently do not collect Cookies information for analysis, however we may do so in the future, please read our Cookie policy.


OUR LEGAL BASIS FOR COLLECTING INFORMATION:

  • When we process your contact details for an enquiry – you have submitted this to us, so we will respond via consent basis.

  • If we further contact you - if you enter into a Contract with us for supplying goods and services, or as our customer, we process your data under a contractual basis.

  • If we conduct marketing activity to potential clients (businesses only excluding sole traders) we use the Legitimate Interest basis.


 

WHO DO WE SHARE YOUR PERSONAL DATA WITH?
We may where appropriate share your personal data with:

 

  • Any member of our group, which means our subsidiaries, our ultimate holding company and its subsidiaries.

WHERE DO WE PROCESS PERSONAL DATA?
We generally store and process your data within the European Economic Area (“EEA). Where this is not so, for some support services or by staff situated outside the EEA who work for us or for one of our suppliers, we will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that it is subject to appropriate safeguards, such as relying on a recognised legal adequacy mechanism.

 


HOW LONG DO WE PROCEESS PERSONAL DATA FOR?
We process personal data only for so long as is necessary for the purpose(s) for which it was originally collected, after which it will be deleted or archived unless we need to process it for the purpose of compliance with legal obligations to which we are subject or for another legitimate and lawful purpose. We generally retain personal data given under consent purposes (as above) for no longer than 2 years.

We are committed to ensuring that your information is secure. Electronic communications are insecure and we, Esotec, accept no liability for any loss that may occur due to the interception or unauthorised accessing of electronic communications with Esotec.

  • You may request details of personal information which we hold about you – contact details are at the end of this policy.

  • In certain circumstances (normally where it is no longer necessary for us to continue to process it), you may be entitled to request that we erase the personal data concerned.

  • Where we are processing your personal data for marketing purposes or otherwise based on our legitimate interests, you may in certain circumstances have a right to object to that processing.  If you wish to object to any relevant processing, you can contact us in order to do so.

  • Where we are processing personal data relating to you on the basis of your prior consent to that processing, you may withdraw your consent, after which we shall stop the processing concerned.


If you have a complaint about any processing of your personal data being conducted by us, you can contact us or lodge a formal compliant with the Information Commissioner.
